What personal information Barnmap collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Last updated: October 10, 2026
Barnmap (barnmap.com) is published by Bash Media LLC. This page explains what personal information the site collects, why, who else handles it, and what you can do about it. Questions: [email protected] or our contact form.
When you browse
- Visit statistics. We use Google Analytics to see how the site is used: pages viewed, clicks on “Book online”, “Official website” and “Reveal contact”, account sign-ups and listing claims, the site or search that brought you here, your approximate location (country, region, city), and your device and browser. Google Analytics does not log or store your IP address. We turned off Google signals and ad personalization, so this data is not used for advertising, and the site team’s own visits are not counted.
- No ads. Barnmap does not use advertising trackers or social media pixels.
- Technical data. Like any website, our host and Cloudflare, which protects and delivers the site, receive your IP address and browser details to send you the pages and block abuse.
- Security limits. We use your IP address for short-lived counters: how many phone numbers can be revealed per hour, and how many wrong passwords can be tried. These counters expire within an hour.
- Recent searches are kept only in your own browser. They are never sent to us.
- Maps. When a map loads, the map images come from the U.S. Geological Survey and the map code from cdnjs (Cloudflare). These services see your IP address, as any website you visit does.
When you create an account
- With your email: your email address and password (stored only as a one-way hash, so nobody can read it), plus the name and details you add to your profile.
- With Google: if you choose “Continue with Google”, Google sends us your name, your email address and an account ID that lets us recognize you next time. We do not receive your Google password, we do not keep your profile photo, and we have no access to anything else in your Google account. Barnmap’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Account records: the date you signed up, how you signed up (email or Google) and when you last signed in.
When you send us something
- Contact form: your name, email address and message.
- Business forms and accounts: your name, role, phone number, email address, the business details and prices you enter, how we can check that you run the business, and any photos you upload with their credit and the license you accept.
We keep these messages and requests in our site administration, and a copy reaches our team by email.
How we use it
- To run your account and sign you in.
- To answer your messages and handle claims, listing updates and photos.
- To send you emails about your account: email verification, password reset, decisions on your claim or photos, and confirmation when you delete your account.
- To keep the site secure.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not send newsletters or marketing emails.
Establishments listed on Barnmap
Listings describe horse establishments with the information they publish themselves on their websites and public business profiles: name, address, phone number, website, services and prices (see how we check listings). Phone numbers appear only after a click on “Reveal contact”. A business can claim its listing to correct it, or ask us to remove it, from the business page or the contact form.
Who else handles your information
- OVHcloud hosts the website and its database in the European Union.
- Cloudflare protects the site and delivers its pages.
- Google provides our email (Google Workspace), which sends account emails and receives your messages, the “Continue with Google” sign-in if you use it, and our visit statistics (Google Analytics). Google may process this data in the United States and other countries.
- The U.S. Geological Survey and cdnjs serve the maps, as described above.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Cookies
Barnmap sets cookies to keep you signed in, and for 15 minutes to secure a Google sign-in. Google Analytics sets measurement cookies (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) that last up to two years. Cloudflare may set a security cookie to tell visitors from bots. There are no advertising cookies.
To opt out of visit statistics, block cookies for this site in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The site works the same without them.
How long we keep it
- Your account stays until you delete it. Deleting it removes your profile and sign-in details. Listings you managed stay on the site, because they describe the business; the confirmation email lists them.
- Messages, claims and photos are kept as a record of the request. Ask us and we will delete them.
- Visit statistics are kept by Google Analytics for 14 months, then deleted.
- Security counters expire within an hour. Our host and Cloudflare keep standard technical logs under their own rules.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your details, or delete your account, at any time from your account.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete anything else, at [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live (for example the European Union, the United Kingdom or California), you may have more rights, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Barnmap is meant for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
